Legislative update
Wednesday is Common Core day at the Capitol
Come TOMORROW (Wed) for a Rally with concerned citizens on the steps of the State Capitol at 10 a.m. for a day at the Legislature to “Erase Common Core.” Come and talk with your legislator and tell them about your concerns related to Common Core. Meet with all the others statewide and know you’re not alone in this fight!
Wear comfortable shoes and a “red” T-shirt, the color of our Stop Common Core movement. We will have our popular Stop CC t-shirts, buttons and crawfish necklaces available for a donation.
From 11:30am-1pm in Arsenal Park (just behind the State Capitol) we will have our lunch on the lawn rally in which 19 different activist from around the state will be speaking.
Parking at the Capitol is easiest on the levee. If you can’t find space there then there is paid parking is available at the Baton Rouge Riverside Parking Garage at the corner of 3rd and Convention St. From there, FREE trolley rides to and from the Capitol run until 2:30 p.m.
